About Green Energy Loan
Green Energy Loan is a program of Global Legacy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping residential and commercial property owners improve the energy and resource efficiency of their properties and promote the use of renewable energy sources —in order to fight global warming by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Residential and commercial property energy use (i.e., electricity and natural gas) currently generates 40 percent of greenhouse gas emissions in Sonoma County. Sonoma County and its nine cities have set a greenhouse gas reduction goal of 25 percent below 1990 levels by the year 2015 (see Climate Protection Campaign). Global Legacy is committed to helping property owners contribute to that goal in an effective and timely way.
Global Legacy
Global Legacy works with lenders to remove upfront cost barriers by creating financing products dedicated to energy efficiency and renewable energy improvements. We also work with borrowers to help them capture sufficient energy cost savings to offset their loan payments, while improving their property's value and year-round comfort.
